Noisy point cloud - less detail compared to PIX4D
« on: September 03, 2019, 06:11:40 PM »
Hey All,

i did a 3D scan of some buildings, flying manual.
2 flights, first flight was Nadir 2nd was with tilted camera. Height: 30m with phantom 4 Pro.

After alignment on setting high i have a sparse cloud of 2.8 mil points.
I used gradual selection to filter out bad points, leaving me with 500K points.

I was quite disappointed with the resulted point cloud created by Agisoft: lots of noise and less detail then pix4D. (see pictures)

Does anyone have a suggestions to improve my results?

Does anyone know how to remove excessive noise other than manual cleaning in agisoft?

Have used pix4d in the past but was more a fan of agisoft till today...

Thanks in advance!

 dronesurveycontsultancy,

Did you run the Optimize Cameras tool?

What is the actual result when processing the Dense Could ?

Mak11,

I have runned the Optimize cameras tool after every gradual selection step.
What do you mean by what is the actual result?
I have to deliver my cleaned point cloud and ortho image to my client who does the terrestal scanning
Greetings

Hello dronesurveyconsultancy,

Are you able to share the subset of the image data that you are using and that includes the problematic structure so that we could try to reproduce the problem or suggest the ways of getting better results? If so, please send the download link to support@agisoft.com, additionally please include the PDF report file generated from the completely processed project.
Best regards,
Alexey Pasumansky,

Unfortunately, i can not share the dataset. If i process the Nadir dataset seperately from the oblique dataset i dont have the noise. Is this normal?
