Projection files from Trimble GPS units

I'm working on a site where there is a local grid in operation. I've asked for a .prj file but the only output available is a Trimble .cal file. Is this any use to me? And, if so, is there any way to make a .prj file from it?

Is this file in a text form or whether it is in a binary format?

Maybe you can send the file to support@agisoft.com?
