Create or Import same mask to multiple images at once?
« on: May 28, 2014, 09:36:04 PM »
Is there a way to either copy/paste an existing mask to multiple selected images at once?  Also, what about being able to IMPORT a mask to multiple images?  When I try to apply a single mask file to the entire chunk or workspace it appears to be expecting a sequence of mask files that correspond to the names of the photos.  However, I want to apply the SAME mask to ALL images.

Hello mitchfx,

To apply the same mask file for the whole chunk or workspace you just need to use static template in the corresponding field of the Import Masks dialog:

Applying masks to the custom selection via GUI is not yet possible in the actual release.

Hi Alexey,

Unfortunately, the image in your message (screenshot??) cant be seen. What do you mean by static template and where do I select this option? In the Import Masks menu I am selecting:

Method: From File
Mask file names: name of my file (mask.png)
Apply to: All cameras

But no success. The mask I created by exporting a mask from one image in Photoscan.

cheers,

Javier

Dismiss my previous message!

Under: "Mask file names" I was using the whole path for the file but should only be the file name.

Working now...

cheers,

Javier

To apply the same mask file for the whole chunk or workspace you just need to use static template in the corresponding field of the Import Masks dialog:

Hi Alexey,

I've also tried this method, but the program still doesn't want to apply the photo. I'd have to do it one by one. I have created a chunk with the images on which I want to apply the same mask. When the dialog appears, it doesn't ask "import masks for:", the fields are the following:

  • Method: From background
    Operation: Replacement
    Filename template: ????
    Tolerance: 20

    Apply to: All cameras

But when I click okay, another dialog appears and says: "Can't open file: the system can't find the specified file..."

What can I do to solve this problem? Thank you in advance.

Greetings,
Carlos
