Optimal size non-coded targets
« on: October 11, 2019, 02:07:20 PM »
Dear all,

can anybody tell me what the optimal size for non-coded targets (either circular or cross) is? I guess it would be best to state it in pixels / relative to the ground sampling distance?

Thanks a lot,
Helge

Hi Helge,

Around 10 to 20 times the GSD has worked for me.
But please note that the marker detection algorithm that is used in Agisoft is a 'mixed bag'. It commonly picks up false positives or struggles to identify markers that are not 'optimally' sized (even when using coded markers).

All the best.

I think it would be beneficial if Agisoft added best practices.
