Can't allocate stereo buffers
« on: May 25, 2011, 02:21:28 PM »
When executing the build geometry, I often see the following lines in the output

stereo.cpp line 340: error -61
Can't allocate stereo buffers

Does this influence the final result? Can I somehow avoid this problem?

Hello WzDrg,

This error means that GPU resources are not enough to perform current processing operation and CPU is used instead. It does not influence the result, but if you see this message frequently, maybe you should think of replacing your graphic card by productive one.

By the way, what graphic card are you using?

Thanks for the reply.

I'm currently working on a 17" Macbook Pro, so upgrading my graphics card is rather difficult.

My graphics card is
Chipsetmodel:   NVIDIA GeForce GT 330M
  Type:   GPU
  Bus:   PCIe
  Breedte PCIe-baan:   x16
  VRAM (totaal):   512 MB

Should I disable the opencl calculation?

Hello WzDrg,

If upgrading is difficult or impossible you don't have to do it.
You can experimentally compare both ways - with OpenCL optimization and without and then choose the most suitable for you.
