Building orthomosaic causes photoscan to crash
« on: November 11, 2019, 02:20:36 PM »
I have been trying to build orthomosaics from DEMs and when I try to reset the boundaries or resolution (I need to make several different files with the same grid size), the program crashes.  It seems to work fine if I don't reset the boundaries, or if I reset the boundaries during Export Orthomosaic.  I want to be sure that the orthomosaics can be compared exactly (they are before and after images of a site); does setting the resolution and boundaries during export accomplish the same thing as buildng an orthomosaic with these parameters?  Why does the program crash during the build command?  I can send the error message if needed.

Thanks for the quick reply.  I submitted the crash report a couple of times, but just resubmitted it with this thread number.

To be more specific, the crash happens when I click on "estimate" to change the boundaries.  Here is a text of the "details" from one of the instances of crashing:

Hello schermer,

It seems that you are using older PhotoScan Pro version, can you please check, if the issue is still observed in the latest Metashape Pro version (1.5.5)?

You can just unpack the tar.gz contents to another directory on the same machine and copy valid .lic file to it from PhotoScan folder in order to make the newer version work under the same license.

I upgraded to Metashape Pro 1.5.5  and the problem is still occurring.  I put this thread number in my crash report.  Once again, I can change the pixel value and boundaries during export-orthomosaic but not during build orthomosaic.  The crash happens when I click on "estimate" for the boundaries.  In the meantime I am using the exported orthomosaics and hoping that they are the same as the one I would build with this resolution and boundaries.   Thanks for your help.
