Band designations in Metashape 1.5 for RedEdge camera photos
« on: November 22, 2019, 12:24:17 AM »
I am working with a MicaSense RedEdge camera with band designations as indicated below:

Micasense RedEdge
Band 1 - Blue (center wavelength = 475 nm)
Band 2 - Green (center wavelength = 560 nm)
Band 3 - Red (center wavelength = 668 nm)
Band 4 - Near Infrared (center wavelength = 840 nm)
Band 5 - Red edge (center wavelength = 717 nm)

In Metashape when working with a raster calculator tool (Tools --> Raster Transform) to standardize reflectance values, Metashape has designated Band 4 - Red Edge and Band 5 - NIR.

Does Metashape recognize which is which, and has just re-ordered them (e.g., based on wavelength), or have they been switched?

Thank you.

Hello doug_peterson,

Metashape is using the same convention for the output bands ordering as MicaSense Atlas (https://support.micasense.com/hc/en-us/articles/220233768-Altum-RedEdge-and-Atlas-GeoTIFF-Band-Order) - the bands are sorted according to the wavelength.
