Matching error
« on: June 06, 2011, 11:51:27 AM »
I'm currently missing a view on the quality of the matching process.
Is there a way to have a view on matching errors? How many points of a photo are matched in the matching process? What is the average/maximum reprojection error?
Coloring the points in the photos according to the number of matches might be very helpfull in determining if a photo improves overall quality or if some areas in the model are missing information.

Hello WzDrg,

PhotoScan prints information on the total reprojection error during photo alignment in the Output pane. Output pane can be displayed using "Output" command from the "View" menu. Unfortunately obtained reprojection error currently is not saved in the project file.

Coloring points based on the number of matches seems to be a useful suggestion, we should check if this can be implemented.

Any news on whether this is still being considered?
