Frame or fisheye?
« on: July 05, 2020, 05:43:30 PM »
I have a Sony alpha with the SELF1628 lens (16 mm, equivalent to 24mm on a 35mm camera).
Sometimes I add the VCL-ECU2 to it. It's stated as an ultra wide lens (12mm, equivalent to 18mm on a 35mm camera).
Should I still use the frame model? How can I decide which model use?
I saw that the fisheye limit is somewhere considered 16mm equivalent, so if this is the case I'm in in the frame region.
Also manufacturer says ultra wide and not fisheye, but I'm wondering if this is the right way to decide which model use or if there are other guidelines.
Thanks in advance,
Massimo

Hello Massimo,

We recommend to use Fisheye camera type when the fisheye distortions are obvious on the images.
