Align Chunks python script
« on: July 15, 2020, 03:55:03 PM »
HI

Im looking for a script that can align several chunks to a "master" chunk. The batch functionality is there for aligning chunks but the result is not the same if you use it as if you manually align chunk by chunk to a base chunk using point alignment.  The purpose is to do rigid alignment of facial expressions to a base head, neutral expression. And currently the batchg functionality is failing me in this part while it works good with doing it chunk by chunk. In combination to this it would be fantastic to mask/select areas of the chunks to be taken in consideration for point alignment to avoid unwanted areas to be considered.

Best

Hello Carl,

Are you taking the images for each chunk using the rigid camera rig?

If so, then I would rather suggest to use 4D processing approach (multi-frame chunk).

Another option is to export the cameras after alignment from the reference chunk (File Menu -> Export Cameras) to XML format and use Import Cameras option + Built Points command to perform the image matching in the new chunks, preserving the exterior and interior camera orientation from the reference chunk.
