Generic Mask
« on: May 09, 2013, 05:33:38 PM »
I need to apply the same mask to every photograph in a project.  Does anyone have a quick workflow for this?

Currently, I'm making one mask, exporting it, and then making copies of that file to match my other filenames.  It gets a little tedious when you've got hundred of photos.

Thanks!

"Bulk Rename Utility" is a free download which greatly simplifies renaming multiple files. I used it yesterday to rename and renumber over 200 masks. www.bulkrenameutility.co.uk

According to Alexey (http://www.agisoft.ru/forum/index.php?topic=1087.msg5396#msg5396), you can input one fixed filename for your project instead of one per file. Haven't tried it yet.

Ralf, thanks for posting that link.  I thought I remembered that from somewhere.  After a little playing around, I figured out the work flow and here it is:

Create a mask on one of your images and then export, then:

Tools > Import > Import Mask then choose
Import masked for: Active chunk
Method: From File
Mask file names:  TYPE OUT THE NAME OF YOUR FILE WITHOUT WILDCARDS
Click OK
Photoscan will ask for a folder, pick the folder with the mask you created in it, click Select Folder

Before you know it, you'll have duplicates of that mask on every photograph in your chunk.

Thanks!

p.s. David, thanks for the renamer link.  Plenty of uses for that.
