Ability to remove Camera Edges and Sky ?
« on: May 15, 2017, 10:13:35 AM »
Hi,

I have a series of images form either a Parrot Disco aircraft or Beepbop multirotor. They are for the onboard 14megapixel camera. I wish to run them Photoscan. They usually have a lot of sky in them. The horizon will not be level in most. They always have the camera window surrounds in them.

How can I make and apply an accurate mask to all the images to remove the surrounds ?

Do I have to worry about the sky making the model worse ? The "other" software has a "remove sky" option specifically for this brand of system.

Thanks,
Jeremy

Hello Jeremy,

You can import the same mask for all images in your set to exclude these black areas in the corners. You can draw it manually for the single image, save and then import for the complete image set.

In the following thread there's an example, how to import the same mask for all the photos in the active chunk:

Thanks Alex,

I think I need to try that before I can see what effect all the sky has on the images.

Cheers
