Select mesh faces near tie points

Hello, I'm working on automatic cleanup of some of my models. Is it possible to select mesh faces that are within a certain distance of a tie point?

Hello KBL,

How you are planning to define the allowed distance between the mesh vertices and tie points? Would it be manual user input (or fixed value in the script body) - in which units? Or whether it should be calculated according to the project specifics, for example, median value for mesh vertex to the closest tie point distance?
