Camera Calibration input for sensor width and focal length
« on: December 03, 2020, 06:38:50 PM »

Hello Guys,

I'm pretty new to Agisoft and for some reason none of my cameras are calibrating even though they are being aligned. I'm not sure if this has any consequences. Anyways, I'm using a DJI X7 with 16mm Lens and I don't know what to put for the values below (image) to get them to calibrate. If someone could help me with those values I would really appreciate it. Thank you

Hello dainel,

According to the specifications: https://dl.djicdn.com/downloads/zenmuse+x7/20180718/Zenmuse+X7+User+Manual+EN+v1.4.pdf the sensor pixel size is 3.91 um (0.00391 mm). If you input this value to the corresponding fields in the top-right corner of the dialog, the f value will be recalculated automatically and will be used as initial value for the autocalibration procedure.

Hello dainel,

So use 0.00391 mm for my pixel size? (0.00391x0.00391) and leave focal length alone ?

Hello dainel,

You should use both focal length (in mm) and pixel size (in mm).

Hello dainel,

You should use both focal length (in mm) and pixel size (in mm).

Thanks Alexey,

I have entered the pixel size you gave me and it automatically calculated the (F value). Now, for my focal length since I'm using the DJI X7 16mm Lens, does that mean my focal length is 16mm? I think my lens are 35mm equivalent? So do I use 24mm or 16mm for my focal length?

Hello dainel,

You should not use 35 mm equivalent for the focal length value input to the camera calibration dialog.
