Long Aerial survey with Gaps
« on: December 05, 2020, 11:15:51 AM »
So quick question about recommondation from the Agisoft Team,

I have a large aerial survey (40km) with 2-3 gaps inbetween where flying was restricted.

Should i align all at once (which is less effort, no splitting etc)
or can i get same results when aligning all at once, even though they are NOT connected.

Thank you in advance :)

Hello andysfd,

If the sub-sets of images which are not connected consist of considerable number of geotagged images, even if you run the Align Photos operation in the single chunk, the result will show several non-connected components in the Model view.

Alternatively you can process (align) images related to each isolated component in separate chunk, then merge the chunks (as all are aligned with each other by default thanks to the georeferencing data) and continue with further processing operations.
Best regards,

My question was more related to "best practice",
jeah all images are shot wie a DJIp4RTK with accurate geoposition.

assuming all images were taken on the same day i just wanted to know if the results would be more accurate seperating the non connected chunks :)
