Aligment problem
« on: December 18, 2020, 02:25:51 PM »
I have problem that which kind of settings I need to use, that i get those photos to align? Those marked and red ones are taken by Canon Eos 6D and blue ones DJI Phantom 4 RTK. There are about 15-20 meters difference between z-coordinate of those pictures. And align is making me "two" different point clouds one on the other.

Those pictures are taken timber truck and i need to ask that which kind of aligment settings I need to use? I ask help, because when I only use that Canon EOS 6 D pictures and for example  default aligment settings. I only get very strange point clouds. Like a both sides of truck are aligment behind of each others. I am also tried many many many kind of variants of aligment settings. And I am very frustrated. Aligment for DJI's photos work quite well and I get quite nice mesh and model, but taking pictures of truck's lower parts is almost impossible by drone.

My purpose is that I could make 3D model of timber truck and use it for educational purposes.

Hello JHP,

If the details of the scene looks more or less similar on both sub-sets and therefore the tie points can be detected between the photos from different sub-sets, you can try to uncheck all cameras in the Reference pane and run the Align Photos operation with Reference pre-selection disabled, using only Generic preselection.

If the sub-sets are adequately aligned with each other, you can check on the coordinate data in the Reference pane and optimize the alignment or just press Update button to georeference the result.
