pointcloud intensity import and export

Hello,
i import the laserscan pointcloud with intensity to Metashape, but Metashape doesn't show it, i just see the black points, and i export this pointcloud, that doesn't have intensity anymore.

Can Anybody solve this problem?

Hello ugo,

For the point cloud import procedure Metashape doesn't load intensity data, therefore it is not kept, when the imported point cloud is then exported from Metashape.

I'll move this thread to Feature Request list, as this is something that may be implemented in future. Is there any other information that you would like to be preserved for the imported point clouds?

Same here.
We're very glad LAZ imports are possible at all (because LASTools are very outdated and we didn't find any alternatives)
but it would be much better if we could also filter by intensity, because then we could seperate tree canopies from ground reflections.

Adding this feature would very much be appreciated!

We have had some updates since DavidD started this topic but I still see that the intensity is displayed as black points.

If I export from Metashape I see that the intensity is still there so I think it's now more a display problem?
Can you provide a solution for displaying the intensity? It would help a lot since the intensity point cloud is in most cases better then the RGB.

Dear Remco,

Metashape 2.x displays the Intensity for a point cloud. Since point clouds may have a very different range of intensity, the values for your point cloud may be too small, so it is displayed in black. In this case, for the convenience of display, we can suggest using the - Set Brightness tool (select Tools > Set Brightness).

But we want to note that if there are images in the project, then the tool will be applied to them as well. We will think about how to improve this tool so that it is convenient to adjust the values for display.

For now, we can offer the workflow described above. We hope it will suit you.
