Orthomasaic CRS not recognised by QGIS
« on: March 30, 2021, 04:19:09 PM »
Hi,

I am running a project with reference settings coordinate system in EPSG 31370, camera ref is in WGS84. In dem and ortho creation, I set the projection to EPSG31370. In the workspace properties I can see that DEM and Ortho are referenced to EPSG 31370 as well. When I export these files now, again using the correct projection EPSG 31370, and load the layer in QGIS, it says unknown CRS. The coordinates themselves  are correct, but somehow the CRS is not recognised, while for tiff export out of other programs I don't have that issue.

In cloudcompare it seems to somehow recognise it, but not fully correct either.

Is there anything I am doing wrong so this doesn't work, or is this a known issue?

Thanks,

Wouter

Hello Wouter,

So it is the default EPSG::31370 system? Which Q-GIS version you are using?

Hi Alex,

yes indeed, using the standard 31370 from the library.

Qgis: version 3.16.4, see attachment.

Hello Wouter,

I have Q-GIS 3.8.2 by the hand and I am not observing the reported problem, when loading orthomsaic or DEM, exported from Metashape in EPSG::31370 coordinate system.

Also I have just found somewhat similar bug-report: https://gis.stackexchange.com/a/367221 Can you try the suggested workaround and check, if it solves the problem in recent QGIS version?

Hi,

ok, yes, we had found something similar. Interesting to see it works in the earlier version indeed. I tested it here and it also works for me in 3.8.2.

Will check the work around later on, and let you know if it helps.
