Hi there,

I'm very new to Metshape and I'm experiment a lot :-)

After a hint on Peter Falkinghams' site (https://peterfalkingham.com/2019/06/27/photogrammetry-testing-agisoft-metashape-commercial-software/) I tried to build the mesh from depth maps and the program crashes reproducible.

My first thought was that it's a M1 Mac problem but after a while I tried v1.5.5 and v1.6.6 and both worked well with the same batch process (Align Photos -> Build Dense Cloud -> Build Mesh (from depth maps) -> Build Texture)

So no problem for now since I have two working older versions but to keep an eye on this...

Thank you for reporting.

We have just updated the installers on our web site with a fix included, please download the updated version (the build number didn’t change):
https://www.agisoft.com/downloads/installer/

The problem was related to macOS Metashape installers only, Windows and Linux users are not affected.

We are very sorry for inconvenience. Please let us know if everything is working fine now.

It's also crashing in Intel Macs, even in the latest version (downloaded yesterday).
Metashape crashes in the end and the Agisoft "Submit Crash Report " appears. Already submitted 2.

The issue starts immediatly after the depth maps build, in the beginning od the DEM build. The quality does not have any effect. The crash happens in any quality choice, precisely after the "Projecting depth maps..." line in the processing log.

We were able to reproduce the problem with depth maps based DEM generation. It will be fixed in the next 1.7 update.

We have just updated Metashape installers to version 1.7.3 build 12473 which should solve depth-maps based DEM generation problem on macOS you reported.

There's another small hiccup in the latest version. In a model with local coordinates, after creating 2 markers to build a scale bar, it's impossible to edit the distance. The accuracy field is available but the distance field is locked. It works in version 1.6.x.

Can you please confirm, that you have Source values tab opened? Please also check, if selecting the cell and pressing F2 key switches to value editing mode.

Sorry Alexey, my fault. By default I had the View Errors Button selected from previous projects and did not notice.
After change to view source everything is fine  :D

On a side note to this topic, I'm wondering how you've found the M1 Mac to be performance-wise with Metashape.  Does running in Rosetta cause it to perform slower than an older Intel Mac or does it still go faster despite Rosetta?

I did the test with some test data from Dr. Peter L. Falkingham (Styracosaurus (53 photos): https://1drv.ms/u/s!Am5GkbZS_98XqJcY7pZBjtpooG3AGQ)

I ran it on both machines with same batch settings: 1. Align Photos (high) -> 2. Build Dense Cloud (medium) -> 3. Build Mesh (from depth maps) (medium) -> 4. Build Texture

First I ran it on a Mac Mini 2018 with 6-core i7 with 32GB. It took 10 min., all physical cores ran at 100% but not all HT cores. The sound of this little machine was like drying my hair ;-)

Second start was on the new M1 Mac Mini with 16GB. That took 8:30 min., all cores ran at 100% and the Mac was total quiet.
