Version 1.7.3 Build 12473 (Windows) Model import error

Starting Metashape with Version 1.7.3 Build 12473 (Windows) and selecting File> Import> Import Model causes Metashape to crash. (Window disappears without error)

Hello Yuji,

I don't observer similar problems on the test configuration, so the issue could be related to some shell extensions or backup&sync services running in the background.

Do you see any metashape.exe related lines in the Windows Event Viewer -> Windows Logs -> Application section? If so, there should be an indication to the faulty DLL or something similar.

I found the cause. Occurs in an environment where CHITUBOX Basic is installed.

By default, CHITUBOX generates thumbnail previews of OBJ files etc. in Windows File Explorer. This is causing the crash.

uncheck "Enable thumbnail preview of desktop model" in the CHITUBOX setting, the problem will disappear.
