Amazing work!  I am sure using UWIS GPS is improving processing performance for large projects but are you also finding significant accuracy improvements?

UWIS does three things:

Navigate - it helps us find the target quickly (https://deep3d.co.uk/2021/04/23/back-in-the-water/) using a sonar overlay on the tablet.

Scale - merge the UWIS GPS data with cameras for reconstruction constraints (https://deep3d.co.uk/2020/02/04/accuracy-defined/)

Geo locate - whereabouts in the world is the subject and how does it relate to others?

We have a little app that takes camera and UWIS data and merges them - https://deep3d.co.uk/2020/06/03/you-need-an-app-for-that/ - and version 2 is under development right now, adding a few features to refine accuracy.

And whilst much of this has been available in the terrestrial arena, underwater positioning has been the preserve of military or oil field sized budget holders - until now.

So for us, UWIS adds significant capacity and capability.

It really depends what your needs/requirements are, but for single diver tracking then this:

Would get you started. This would also enable merging of camera positions with GPS data via our App (Accupixel are the UK dealer for UWIS and customers get the app).

Tablet for bidirectional comms and navigation is extra, as is additional tracker units.
