texture dark spots in mesh
« on: June 21, 2021, 11:54:15 AM »
Dears,

I am having a slightly weird problem with texture in model.

the generated texture is having a batch of darker color that is on a big portion of the model.
this is not shown in the photos and I can not understand how it happen.
kindly see attached photos.

I have to solve this because this is a documentation of an archaeology site and this dark batches may be interpreted as Ash.
I would appreciate any thoughts you have on this matter.

*UPDATE*

it seems that some of the photos have different lighting (which is the case) and some are better fit than others for certain areas of the model.
I generated an Orthophoto and it had the same problem by default, but I made a batch correction and assigned the correct image to the certain area shown i attached photos.
However, this is a large project and I can not do this for the whole area .
is there a way to fix this, specially in the textured model?

Hello majou,

You can adjust the colors of the source images (in Metashape it can be done in manual mode using Adjust Color Levels option from the Photos pane context menu or using Calibrate Colors option from the Tools Menu).

Alternatively, you can try to use Texture De-Lighter tool to remove the shadows from the textured model.

Thanks Alexy for your prompt reply.
The De-lighter tool didn't give satisfactory results. and I already edit all the photos in Lightroom prior to processing.
any other ideas?
