Import Markers to New Workspace - Offset Issue
« on: June 13, 2021, 10:41:58 PM »
Hello, I currently have a turntable style setup for capturing photos. When scaling my objects, I manually add 74 markers and add scale bars respectively. As I take photos of several different objects over time I often process models in new workspaces but maintain the same setup. Currently, manually adding markers each time is very time consuming and I have tried exploring the method of exporting / importing markers but have been unsuccessful. I believe the issue is that when I export my markers it is in a local coordinate system that does not match the coordinate system of my subsequent models in which I import the markers. Is there a way to establish a global coordinate system between these workspaces so I can import/export markers and avoid manually "adding markers" each time?

Or does anyone have an idea on a better methodology for this situation?

Thanks in advance for any help / suggestions relating to this topic.

how about to assign absolute coordinates to four of the markers.

I'm relatively new to using metashape. Are you suggesting to add all my markers and then add additional ones with absolute coordinates to allow for my original markers to be positioned relative to the ones with absolute coordinates?

I have been trying to proceed this way, but the position of my original markers do not seem to transform (in x,y,z space) when adding additional markers with absolute coordinates. I am likely approaching it incorrectly, are there any help forums / articles you can point me to, to aid in this process?

Thanks
