problem with texturing agave plant scan
« on: August 18, 2021, 09:56:14 PM »
Hi, I´m trying to do a proper 3D model of a scanned agave and I´m having problems with the texturing process. Please see attachment...

No matter which texture option I choose, I never get a correct texture for the agave. In any case the agave leaves have either holes or are blended with the botton ground. Even in the mode with no blending, leaves are projected onto the ground. Is this an error or is there a workaround somehow ?

Hello Pixelsonic,

Can you please specify the mesh generation settings used for this project? If dense cloud has been used as a source data, please also specify the dense cloud generation settings.

Additionally please post a screenshot of the same scene in Solid mesh view mode.
Best regards,

Hi Alexey,

thanks for your reply. I just realized that I had a wrong setting in the texturing process. Somehow it was set to "keep uv" which resulted in strange blending effects.
I re-textured with the generic method and now all looks very good! I´m so happy now :)

sorry for this stupid mistake.

Best regards,
Martin
