resetting predefined views
« on: December 07, 2021, 04:46:51 PM »
after reorienting the view, objects and the grid to xz I've got my Y axis the way I want it.... to the top. But the predefined views are wrong now. 7 should show topview, 1 front. etc.
is there a way to set these right so I can use them the way i'm used to?

Hello renevg,

Can you post a couple of screenshot for better understanding of the problem?

Top means TopXY, Front - FrontXZ and etc.

what is alright now: Y axis is pointing up and grid is xz, but the keyboardshortcuts are wrong now. "7" shows side instead of top, "1" shows bottom instead of front etc.

Hello renevg,

Metashape is using Z-up convention, so Top view option means that the camera is looking parallel to Z axis to XY plane.

Yes, has always been that way. some 3D programs use Y axis as up, so to standardize the files I would like to be able to use the 'right' side up. I guess this is as far as it goes..... everything works for me except the views. Would be nice if I could rename them.
