Vertex colour problem
« on: June 15, 2011, 12:59:26 PM »
Hi,

With the latest two releases i'm having trouble processing geometry with anything other than the low
quailty setting.

The dataset is 155 images taken with a 1ds mk3

The camera's solve fine.

The geometry processing takes a while on high, around 36 hours, then after mesh decimation photoscan is
launching a vertex colour step.
Calculating vertex colours, on high and medium settings this is estimating 1800 hours, which is too long.

We don't personally need the vertex colours, is it possible to turn this off somewhere or make it an option
to do so?

Cheers,
Ged

Hello Ged,

We've tried geometry reconstruction on the similar set of images (Medium quality) - the whole process took about 1500 seconds and calculating vertex colors took only 45 seconds.

The problem with the time consuming vertex colors calculation was solved in PhotoScan Version 0.8.2 build 979. Are you sure you are using the latest version?

Hi Alexey,

Indeed the latest build has fixed the vertex issue, thank you for the reply.
