3D PDF Model Export
« on: August 12, 2013, 12:09:38 PM »
In Version 0.9.0 it was possible to export a 3d PDF in a geographic or projected Coordinate System system. This option is disabled in version 0.9.1 (only export in local coordinate system).
Why is this function in 0.9.1 disabled? (will this function be enabled again in the next update?)
Thx for help.

Hello 3DFranz,

Could you please specify what post processing workflow you have been using with those pdf's? Any special software required?

We've checked the model export in PDF and it appears that even in Acrobat Reader it's possible to measure the distances, however, the absolute coordinates of points can not be derived.

I have posted this already in the PhotoScan 0.9.1 pre-release Topic http://www.agisoft.ru/forum/index.php?topic=984.30:

I used to activate the 3d measurement tool of the exported PDF (enable comment function for reader) in adobe acrobat pro. Afterwards it was possible to measure 3D coordinates in the geographic / projected coordinate system within adobe reader - a very impressive function for our costumers. Thus the absolute coordinates can be displayed in Acrobat Reader too.

It would be very nice if it were possible to choose a coordinate system in the PDF export dialog, and also a tick to activate directly the pdf comment function to enable 3d measurements.
