Doming/Bowl effect with Phantom RTK?
« on: July 07, 2022, 06:01:41 PM »
I am having an issue with elevation accuracy on a 160ac landfill site with a lot of relief. I am flying a Phantom RTK with 75% sidelap & 80% frontlap with 20 GCPs, five for control and fifteen check shots. The top of the landfill results are about  1-foot too high and the depressions are about 1-foot low. Metashape settings are set to import the camera and positioning data, and the accuracies all look good. Images are aligned on the highest setting using the Generic Preselection and Reference/Source settings, with camera accuracy set at 0.1-foot & 1 degree.

I have a previous topo of the site from March 2022 that was processed with Pix4D that does not have this problem; my check shots on the top of the landfill and in the bottoms of the new cells fit much better. I have gotten great results in the past with these methods and settings, what am I missing? Thanks!
