Author Topic: Mesh looks "spaghettified" after exporting out as WGS84 (4326)  (Read 6027 times)

Hi Everyone,

I have a problem with my mesh after exporting it out as .OBJ.

The model has been created from drone imagery what looks good inside Metashape but once exported them out (.OJB) it looks extremely stretched (tried to import them into Blender also importing it back to Metashape gives the same result - see screenshots). I assume is something to do with coordinate system trasformation but not sure how exactly should I solve it.

The model was rendered out in WGS84 (ESPG:4326) as that's the default format of the drone imigery coordinates. Imigies were georeferenced using an RTK base station.

Any ideas?

Um2000,

First I would export my model into some projected coordinate system like UTM and it should appear correctly in Blender... Geographic CS is not cartesian reference system....

As Paulo stated, you need a grid coordinate system...XYZ/ENH...not LatLongHeight which is what WGS84 is exporting.
