Importing Depth Images - Measure Unit

Hello,

In v1.8 I managed to import depth images as 16 bit .tiff files by using a script based on Metashape.app.document.chunk.importLaserScans. How can I specify the measure unit?

For example, how can the software understand if a value of 1 is 1mm or 0.5mm?
Do I need to have some metadata on the .tiff file?
