Hello,

I try to merge phtogrammetry with laser scans with Metashape Pro 2.0.1 following this tutorial : https://agisoft.freshdesk.com/support/solutions/articles/31000168474-terrestrial-laser-scans-processing-in-metashape-2-0-0

It seems Metashape doesn't detect any point in "point detection" step for terrestrial laserscan spherical photos.

Is someone have a solution ?

Best regards.

Hello Je3D,

Can you provide the processing log related to the point detection phase of a few laser scans with the task starting line also displayed in the log?

I compared with v 1.7.6 who works fine with spherical photos alignement, it seems spherical images from scan are not recognized as spherical in camera calibration panel.

e57 cloud with included spherical images was exported with Register 360 and scan was performed with Leica RTC 360.

When importing in Metashape 2.0.1, spherical images had same name : "Panorama"

Hello Je3D,

How many enabled images and enabled panormas, included to the laser scans, were there in the project? Please also specify, if laser scans have "lock transform" option enabled (via the context menu of the Worksapce pane).

And what is the resolution of the photos in chunk? As it seems strange that so few points are detected.

Spherical panoramas related to the laser scans are not displayed in Camera Calibration - it has been done by a purpose.

Hello Alexey,

I tried with different enabled images and panoramas enabled :

- only 68 panoramas
- 68 panoramas and 50 images
- 68 panoramas and 5000 images

panoramas resolution : 20480x10240 px
images (DSLR Nikon D7200) : 6000x4000 px

I looks like Metashape have to tile panoramas before processing. When I import panoramas with v 1.7.6 (perfectly works),spherical images resolution is : 2496x1248 (so resolution could be the problem)

I also tried with and without transformation lock : same result...

Best regards.

Hello Alexey,

I also tried with cubemap photos (5000x5000 px x 6 by station) instead of spherical photos. Same result : most of the time detects 0 points, sometimes 1, 2...

I guess it is not a resolution problem.

Maybe should I send you a sample of scan and photos ?

Hello Alexey,

I made a try with another workflow to check if problem comes from spherical photos or exported e57 format.

1) open the e57 in a third party software (CloudCompare)
2) export panoramas in jpg format ( 20480x10240 px)
3) Import panoramas in metashape
4) Set them as spherical in calibration panel
5) Align photos

Perfectly works.

Hello Je3D,

Sure, please send a couple of problematic examples (for example, as spherical image and cubemap) to support@agisoft.com, we will check, what is wrong and whether it can be fixed on Metashape side.

Hello, seems fixed in 2.0.2 pre-release.

Thanks
