room / interior model not "leveled" / Orientating model
« on: September 01, 2022, 08:38:20 PM »
Hello,

I've been experimenting with interiors, but when I render the model in Metashape, the left and right seemed not "leveled" when panning while at the center of the room.

I originally posted about this with a model that had the issues. Later on realized that my orientation was off. Even if re-oriented in Sketchfab. The model needs to be oriented properly in Metashape before sending it out.

To properly orient the model:
- set view mode to orthographic
- hit "reset view" (in the icon / tool bar) - this will reset the view to the top, the front facing downwards) and show the grid (that you should have displayed).
- orient the model that this is actually the top, and the front being facing accordingly.
- cycle through each sides to level it appropriately by displaying each side through the "predefined views" (in the model menu)
- repeat until it is leveled and oriented properly...

Hello shameline,

I can't see any problem with the model, can you please make a screenshot with the highlighted problematic area?

Hello Alexey,

I figured out the issue (which was orientation based), which updated the model in the link, getting rid if the issue.

I had proposed to remove this post. I all edit the original in the meantime, that it is not confusing for people.
