automatic measure of diameter
« on: July 25, 2022, 12:32:54 PM »
Hi all,

i am searching for an option to have measured the (biggest) diameter of my object. I have scaled it with additional marker on every camera and a scale bar. I found the "measure area and volume" option for my mesh, but it does not show the diameter. My objects are nearly spherical, but the manual measure with the ruler is not exact enough.
Unfortunately a calculation through the are and volume is not a solution for me, because the results differ a little due to irregularities from my objects. :/

Does anybody have a solution or idea? Thanks a lot in advance!

Hi Marina,

perhaps this is something for you (sorry not in Metashape):

It seems that the free Cloud Compare can already do that:

Thank You!

And does somebody knows how the functions Model.area() and Model.volume() are applied in a python script and what arguments need to be put in? In the Agisoft Metashape Reference document the funcitons are only mentioned but not explained :S
