Manual image matching
« on: December 05, 2022, 12:52:35 PM »
One more feature that has already been requested: The ability to manually tell the software which images match. It is not uncommon for two images to not match when they clearly do. You would have to be able to tell the software to “match these two images together” and find the matches by any means possible. The only way to do this currently is via markers, but this is very time consuming and manual operation is expensive compared to automatic operations.

Hello ManyPixels,

Do you see considerable difference in the number of detected tie points (valid+invalid) for some image pairs that are matched together within the large dataset or when only two images are added to Metashape project?

In what kind of projects you are observing the image matching problems and what are typical image matching parameters that you are using? Have you tried to use Guided Image Matching with 2000 - 4000 key points per MPix? Does it improve the matching results?
