How to get one seamless texture from 2 chunks after alignment?
« on: January 20, 2023, 08:29:31 PM »
Hi there. I have 2 sets of images ("top" and "bottom") of a shoe.

My basic workflow has been:

1_align photos
2_build point cloud
3_build mesh
4_build texture

after that I have only been able to get the 2 chunks to align by manually adding markers (points? the naming is confusing) by marking 3-5 points on each chunk and then Aligning models using "marker based" alignment. (even though my markers are named "points"? CONFUSING)

So, then the model is Aligned. Then I merge. The problem is I am getting a texture that has very hard edges between the top and bottom textures. The thing is I need a high quality texture on the 2 chunks in order to pick the points I need for alignment. I've tried going back, deleting the textures from Chunks 1 and 2 AFTER the alignment is done and then Building a new texture on the Merged Chunk but I still get the very hard-edged texture on the merged chunk.

Hopefully that makes sense! Any help would be greatly appreciated!
