Dense cloud view vs. ortho+DEM in Agisoft Viewer
« on: April 30, 2023, 01:35:55 PM »
The view of the TLS in AgisoftViewer:
TLSAgisoftViewer.jpeg

is very different than what we get with the derived RGB ortho + DEM:
ortho+DEM_AgisoftView.jpeg

Is this difference to be expected because of the way AgisoftViewer works, or do we have a problem in
the ortho and/or DEM processing?

Hello alobo,

According to the screenshots it seems that the trees have not been reconstructed properly for DEM - you can check that in Metashape, looking on the elevation model in Ortho view for the areas related to the trees.

For visual convenience you can generate second DEM using a Tiled Model as a source option and export that DEM to Viewer.

Hello Alexey,
Thank for your reply. We did change the DSM based on tile model and the result is much better. Attached are the images for the three cases:
1.Tile Model
2.DSM from Depth Maps / Quality low
3.DSM from TileModel

What configuration produce the best DSM results? and which one consumes more resources (time, processing resources, etc)
A.from DepthMaps with high quality
B.from TileModel
C. from dense cloud points

Thanks,
Inti
