license key for 1.8.x to 2.0.x upgrade?

Does a license for the previous version of Metashape pro upgrade to version 2, or is a new license required?

Hello forumname,

You can use the same license key to re-activate your license in Metashape Pro 2.x.

New version uses a different activation system, so old .lic files wouldn't fit new version. That is why a re-input of the license key is required.
