Failure to build mesh from imported Revopoint point cloud
« on: June 30, 2023, 12:19:15 AM »
I have a Revopoint Range scanner. I am trying to import its point cloud for use in Metashape. The import works fine and it appears as a Dense Cloud with 2 million+ points and it looks fine in the display. However, when I go to build a mesh, I get "Empty Region" as an error message. I've played around with the various Build Mesh options, but to no avail. Any ideas what I am doing wrong? Using version 1.6.2

Hello William,

Try using Reset Region button on the Model view toolbar. If it doesn't give you properly adjusted bounding box, then resize it manually using Resize Region, Rotate Region and Scale Region tools.

Latest versions (1.8.5 and 2.0.2) should automatically estimate the bounding box for the point clouds imported to the empty chunk.

Thank you Alexey. That was the problem, I should have thought of it.
