There are issues with generating depth maps
« on: July 11, 2023, 01:47:24 PM »
A batch of inspection images are aligned and dense point clouds are established before exporting depth maps (with parameters set to high precision). However, some depth maps of images do not have values, but point clouds exist and are complete in this area of the dense point cloud. What is the reason for this situation and can it be resolved? thanks

Hello scc,

Probably the cameras, that have empty depth maps, contain too few valid tie points, so no overlapping images have been detected for them to generate the depth data?

Hello Alexey Pasumansky,
First of all, thank you for your answer. What you said is also possible. However, I can export depth maps by changing the Metapaper version, as the previous version I used was older. But a new problem has arisen, as importing a batch of images together cannot generate a depth map for each image. Dividing large areas into blocks can generate depth maps, as you mentioned. This issue may be due to the lack of effective connection points in some parts of these images, resulting in some image exports failing.
