Upgrade Metashpe 1.x to version 2?

We currently have the Agisofr Metashape Pro v1.8.5 and we are using its python API to process images and generate orthophotos/DSMs.

The question is whether we should upgrade to v2.x? We have 2 main concerns:

1. Significant change in the API in v2.x that will cause us to put a lot of effort to edit our libraries.
2. The new version, as I understand, optimizes point cloud/lidar workflows and not photogrammetry. So, is it worth upgrading if we are only using the software to process images? Is processing time better?

Any advice?

You can find the list of major changes and improvements for the versions 2.x in the change log:

If these changes are not relevant for your needs, of course, you can keep using older version.
