White flag / green flag / blue flag: introducing gcps
« on: January 24, 2024, 02:10:57 PM »
Hi all,
after the updates (now working with Metashape 2.0.4): Is it still true that white flag = set automatically, not used in processing; green flag = set by user, used in processing; blue flag = set automatically, used in processing?

My experience: I set e.g. three projections (three green flags, all others white). Not a single blue flag appears, white flags are approximately correct. Than, I unpin a white flag - the proximity of this point to my gcp gets worse but the flag turns blue. If I turn on residuals, the little circle below the blue flag turns red, from which I assume that the flag is located at the location with least residuals.

Is it that I need more projections (green flags) and blue flags will come automatically?
Why do flags turn blue (used for processing) when I unpin them?

I have checked the manual for Metashape 2.1  which did not make things clear. Could you please give a recommendation on how to best proceed for introducing gcps to the dense cloud using 2.0.4 or newer?
