Software crash
« on: March 26, 2024, 01:12:58 AM »
Hi,
a few days ago I updated from 1.8 to the latest one. Now, I just saved a new project after normal process but the software gave me a white screen without any error, while the same error appears when I try to lunch older projects.
How can I fix it?

Thank you.
Federico

Hello Federico,

Do you mean that application is switching to Not Responding mode? If so, does it happen when you just start Metashape or it happens when you load any project?

Hi Alexey,

thank you for your quick response. The software seems to act normally now (but I didn't do anything special meanwhile).
Anyway, when lunched, the software window simply was white without any Not Responding error.. let's see if it keeps going straight!

Thank you again.

Hello Venaria,

If you are using Windows, please check, if you are able to run the application from the command line using additional parameters, try the following options:
Code: [Select]
metashape.exe --opengl angle
metashape.exe --opengl software
metashape.exe --opengl desktop

If one of these options works, it would likely mean that the problem is related to the GPU drivers.

Hi Alexey,

when the error came up I was remotely connected to the pc (Win 10) from my hometown. Probably there were some issue in the connection.
When I tried to lunch the application from the workstation directly, the error disappeared and it is now still working fine.

Thank you for your help, I think you can close the topic!

Hello Federico,

Please check, if you no longer experience crashes when connected remotely, if Metashape is started with additional command line parameter:
Code: [Select]
metashape.exe --opengl angle
