Hello, I am processing an project - aligning 65k (1.3TB) images in the agisoft cloud.

I have purchased 2TB storage and 50h processtime.

I ran into an issue.

-- "We are sorry to tell you that an unexpected error occurred on ‘Download project’ step." --

I have restarted the alignment process and its now running - just asking if I should do something more specific to not experience this unexpected error again? Or it was just as it said something unexpected and it will probalby finish the second time?
Not sure if I got any error log or similar to share.

Regards

Hello,

The error you faced is extremely rare, however possible. What has happened is that an issue occurred on our infrastructure during transferring the processed project from the compute node short term storage to the long terms storage. Please note that when processing fails, processing time spent on it is not being deducted from your processing time balance.

Most probably this time everything will go smoothly, however should you face any other issues or have any questions feel free to contact us.

Hello again,

We started with the estimation of a processing time of 24h.

Now the process have gone 34h and 18h still remains.

I guess under that under processing info --> Processing hours, this is the estimate time for completion.

Is this normal that the estimation is so off?

Hello,

Estimation of time required to complete the processing operation can change during processing. Usually processing operation requires the execution of several consecutive algorithms, and every algorithm in the chain takes the output of the previously executed algorithm, which is unknown before the execution completion.

Hello,

Thank you for reporting the issue.

At this point we can see that the Match Photos subtask of the Align Photos task has been successfully completed, and its results are being saved. Next time you start an Align Photos task it will start from Align Cameras subtask as photos are already matched.

As for the reasons why processing has failed we need some time to investigate what has happened.

Okey, so I should wait for it to abort and then start again?

Please wait until results will be saved. After that you can start again and Match Photos task will be skipped during alignment.

EDIT
We recommend you not to start the processing again before we finish the investigation as success is not guaranteed.

It would help a lot if you can share the project with support@agisoft.com for further analysis.

To invite someone to the project:

  • Click on the Share button on the project visualization page or select Share option in the project menu on My Projects page.
  • In the Share pop-up turn on With invited people option, enter the email of the person you want to invite and click on the Invite button.
