OpenVDB Support
« on: October 04, 2013, 11:50:18 AM »
Hi,
Photoscan is a really good program. However, for high definition models export, the available format are not that fast nor memory efficient.
Would it be possible to get OpenVDB support in Photoscan ? It's an Open Source standard and many 3D Packages support it now. I think it would be the perfect suited format for Photoscan, it even supports 4D.

Isn't OpenVDB better suited to voxel data sets rather than particles/point clouds?

Well ok, for me sparse voxel are a bit like point cloud. But yep, they have a kind of connection like meshes if I understand right.
So I correct my request and post title : It would be nice to have an OpenVDB Export option, it is far more efficient than meshes and is available in many recent 3D packages :)
