We are facing issues with X, Y, Z accuracy when using a 61 MP camera at 120m altitude, while we achieve better accuracy with a 24 MP camera on the same flight plan at the same height. We are using PPK geotagging for both cases and have kept the same processing parameters for photo alignment. Despite this, the 61 MP camera does not yield accurate results.
Due to the vegetation, we are using Medium settings for photo alignment. Turning off the adaptive camera model fitting has improved accuracy slightly. Our goal is to achieve XY accuracy within 6 cm and Z accuracy within 10 cm. The average camera location error is in the millimetre range.
Alignment Parameters:
Accuracy: Medium
Generic preselection: Yes
Reference preselection: Source
Key point limit: 100,000
Key point limit per Mpx: 10,000
Tie point limit: 10,000
Exclude stationary tie points: Yes
Guided image matching: Yes
Adaptive camera model fitting: No
Optimization Parameters:
Parameters: f, b1, b2, cx, cy, k1-k3, p1, p2
Fit additional corrections: Yes
Adaptive camera model fitting: No
I have link for the reports for both cameras for reference. Any guidance on how to achieve better accuracy with the 61 MP camera would be greatly appreciated.
