Measure Shape
« on: June 11, 2024, 11:45:19 AM »
Sorry if there is a similar topic. I want to ask if anyone knows where the Z coordinate is obtained and why it differs from DEM altitude? I understand that the H coordinate appears when markers are added, but I don't understand where the difference with DEM comes from? I am attaching a photo.

Hello OvivO,

The difference may be observed, if you have drawn shapes in the Model view - depending on the enabled surface option (like model, tie points, point cloud and etc.). XYZ for the shape vertex are taken based on the point you click on the active surface.

Note that you can re-calculate Z value for the shape vertices based on DEM using Update Altitudes option for the selected shapes in the Ortho view mode context menu.

Yes that about updating the altitude and the Z coordinate value I got it, but I am drawing on an activated DEM surface. So I am asking why the Z value and that of dem are getting differences. I'm not drawing on the point cloud.
