A way to align components in MS Standard
« on: October 03, 2024, 10:10:09 AM »
Hi. I am working on a large scan of rocky ground terrain with 2600 images. When I align the images, I get 3 components (I understand what components are). But in MS standard there is no way to manually align the components. I simply dont have the budget for MS Professional to be able to use the Markers function. How about being able to view 2 components at once and scale/align them manually 'by eye'? That would be good enough for my purposes which is mainly for CGI visuals.

Also, I am using Metashape to export cameras & images in Colmap format (thanks for adding that export function) to Postshot for Gaussian Splat building. So having all components in 1 sparse cloud is essential for this (I think)

Unless anyone knows a work-around?

thanks

I found a work-around: If you have a Chunk with more than 1 component, duplicate the chunk and delete components until you have each unique component inside its own chunk.
Then use the Align Chunk and Merge Chunk processes to join everything together
