Issue generating tiled model
« on: October 07, 2024, 11:10:13 AM »
Hi everyone!

We have an issue when generating the tiled model where it looks like the uv mapping or whatever it is called, isn't done right.

We created the model without any issue eventough we have 13 images not aligned out of the 954. Could it be the issue?

Pictures were taken in RTK mode without gcp as not needed in this case.

We build the tiled model out of the cropped model. Could it also influence the result?

Here's the report attached and screenshot of the issue.

What could it be? Any idea?

Thanks in advance for your help!

Sylvain

Hello Sylvain,

Something seem to be not right here.

Can you please check, if you are able to reproduce the problem in the same project using smaller bounding box (to reduce the processing time)?

If so, then try the following:
- disable GPU in Metashape Preferences and rebuild the tiled model,
- try cropping the original model and building regular texture for it with and without GPU enabled.
Let me know, if all the results are similar and inadequate or whether some do produce correct texture.

If the problem only occurs when GPU is utilized, then download and install the latest compatible NVIDIA driver and check if it resolves the problem after system reboot.

Hi Alexey,

We've disabled the GPU and it worked. We're running the lastest GPU Drivers (rev. 565.90).

I've uninstalled through display driver uninstaller in safe mode and reinstalled the drivers and retried with the GPU enabled but it doesn't work (see the attachment)

I'm currently trying to build a texture for our model and see the result. i'll let you know the result of the texture once it's done.

Could it be the latest nvidia drivers causing an issue?

Thank you for your help.

EDIT : The texture created doesn't work either. Here's the result attached

I have the same problem with the Nvidia GPU Drivers Rev. 565.90.

I had to install the newest driver for other Software.

Is there a workaround?

The latest Nvidia driver is causing all kinds of issues (including BSOD issues for a friend of mine). Another thread was created here https://www.agisoft.com/forum/index.php?topic=16806.0

We had to downgrade to driver 561.09 to solve the issue.

Hello Dieter,

We will check, if there is anything we can do on our side to workaround the driver issue, but meanwhile can you check, if the problem is the same with 566.03 driver released today.

For anyone who has the same problem, please report the GPU model, driver version and OS version used.

And the easiest way now seems to be roll back to older driver version (560.xx - 561.xx), if possible.
