The AI-assisted mask generation will be very useful. In my brief test so far it either worked amazingly, or not at all. Could a 'guide' tool be implemented to assist the AI, for example a simple paint brush to draw some lines on a photo to focus the AI model's recognition, similar to how it works with your Delighter tool?

I'm also getting a hard crash every time when I go to Settings > GPU (macOS 14.7.1, Intel i9, AMD 5700 XT 16GB) which I've reported via the Crash Reporter.

It would be helpful, if you could share (via link here or via email to support@agisoft.com) some example of cases where AI masking doesn't works as expected.

As for the crashes, we will investigate the issues, thank you for sending the crash reports.

Now when I roll back to 2.1.3, then try to open this reference as WGS84, I'm getting the same error.

Can This be run in a different folder as testing along with the stable release? As in does it install BETA folder next to the other one?

Hello olihar,

On Windows OS you can keep different versions in the following way:
- install stable release to the default location,
- manually copy the installation directory to the custom location,
- install pre-release to the default location.

Thus you will be able to run pre-release from the default installation directory and stable release from the custom location. You can create a shortcut to the executable of that version for faster access.

Ah ok so still the same way, I would suggest Beta versions always get Metashape Pro BETA folder by default so it can easily be tested and not get in the way of the Stable build.

Could give more information about the AI masking tool? What is it supposed to mask? Out of focus areas and/or uniform areas such as an overcast sky in the background of a building? Everything that the AI "thinks" is not park of the subject? Something else?

I try to produce a orthomosaic. In the result the orientation is wrong.

Mostly this new feature is applicable to the close-range shooting scenarios of rather small objects. Mainly for turn-table sessions, but could be also used to isolate the lone-standing object from non-uniform background.

On macOS (Sequoia 15.0.1 (24A348)) when trying to start the Align Photos process, a dialogue box with the following error message appears: "Failed to load the vulkan library! Retry processing?".

Retry doesn't work. Going to have to roll back to the latest stable release.
