no open cl devices?
« on: June 30, 2011, 10:12:52 PM »
I just bought a asus geforce 570 gtx but there aren't any open cl devices showing in the settings on photoscan professional. I had a hd 5870 card that showed up, but this one doesn't. I did a complete reinstall of photoscan, as well as updating all the drivers and removing all software related to my old card. It works just fine with everything else, it is just in photoscan it doesn't show. Any ideas???

Hi Kjellis85,

are you sure the graphics card driver package that you installed has Open CL Support ?
Because there are packages with and without Open CL support available.
(if you have not installed a driver from nvidia (asus for example), it is possible that it has not the computing parts (Open CL/Cuda) included)

For an Gforce 570 gx you should install this package (Win 7/Vista Drivers):
32-Bit version:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-32bit-275.33-whql-driver.html
64-bit version:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-64bit-275.33-whql-driver.html

Regards
Jan

I reinstalled the drivers as you recommended, but it still shows no opencl. But as you can see, it should be opencl capable.

Hi,

just to be sure, you restarted the pc right? (i guess you have done that)
If yes, in this case it could be a bug in PS then.

I understand why you ask, but yes, I did restart :P

On a side note; I can't seem to get bundler to run either. So it might be a problem somewhere on my end after all.

the strange thing is that open cl shows up in the driver
you could try this one:
http://www.nvidia.com/object/win7-winvista-64bit-267.24-beta-driver.html

its older but there seems to be a bug in the latest drivers i have read:
http://forums.nvidia.com/index.php?showtopic=198480&view=findpost&p=1228002

if this does not fix it ... dont know what you could do.
(keeping fingers crossed)
